Mercantile Bank PLC organized a workshop titled “Implementation of the Student Banking Guidelines and Execution of Financial Literacy Programs” at its Head Office on August 10, 2026.

Mati Ul Hasan, Managing Director of Mercantile Bank, presided over the workshop. Md. Iqbal Mohasin, Director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank, attended as the Chief Guest, while Md. Shamim Al Mamun, Deputy Director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank, was present as the Special Guest. Both of them also served as resource persons and conducted the workshop.

Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain, DMD & CBO of Mercantile Bank, delivered the welcome speech. The speakers highlighted the importance of student banking and financial literacy in promoting financial inclusion and developing sound financial habits among the younger generation.

The bank’s Deputy Managing Directors and other senior officials were also present at the event. The workshop was organized by the Corporate Liability and Cash Management Division of Mercantile Bank.

All Heads of Divisions/Departments/Units/Cells, Regional Heads, Heads of Branches, Uposhakha In-charges, and representatives from all Agent Banking Outlets participated in the workshop virtually.
